How to take care of your new piercings tips and tricks

These days it has become all about trying out new and unique looks. While previously dying your hair unusual and loud colors became a thing, these days people are all on about giving piercings tips a try, and the ones who have jumped on this bandwagon, we truly love the way they have styled their piercings.

But of course, with fashion comes a bit of hassle and pain. While piercing may be extremely attractive to look at from a distance, the procedure of getting one and then caring for is by large pain. Especially during the season of monsoon, your piercing tips will be highly prone to pick up an infection so you need to go the extra mile to care for it and we have brought for you some tried and tested remedies to care for your piercing and make this process less cumbersome.

Clean your piercing

Proper hygiene is the number one remedy to keep your piercing healthy and free from bacteria. Once you do not clean your piercing, bacterial and germs build upon in which then ultimately result in an infection. Invest in an anti-septic spray and spray it onto your piercing about every 30 minutes or every hour.

If you cannot find an anti-septic spray, then make up a mix of some sea salt and water and spray it onto your piercing ever half an hour. This will help heal your piercing faster. To keep away the germs and bacteria, apply some pyodine onto your piercing with a cotton swab and make sure to clean the area and sanitize your stud with alcohol regularly.

Moisturize your wound

When your piercing gets dry, you will experience extreme itchiness which may even result in you spoiling your newly done piercing. To keep it soft yet healing in a healthy way, take a few drops of olive oil and gently massage your piercing for a few minutes twice a day.

If you are experiencing unbearable itching, then apply some Vaseline of Polyfax onto your piercing and ice it well to tone down the itchiness and protect it from infection. If you have already gotten an infection or are forming one, then take either some mustard oil of tea tree oil and apply it onto the piercing to prevent irritation and to boost up the healing speed of the piercing.

Artificial jewelry is a big no

Stay away from wearing any artificial jewelry as much as you can if you want healthy healing of your piercing and if you want to keep it infection-free. Wearing any kind of artificial jewelry can result in an allergic reaction which can lead to severe infections. Wear either gold or silver jewelry because that helps reduces the formation of bacteria onto the surface. Make sure to keep your hands and the stud sanitized while you touch the pierced area.
