Common foundation application mistake hindering your flawless finish!

Let’s be honest, We’ve all been there and felt the pain of our foundation application mistake not being as flawless as we want it to be. But don’t worry, we’re here to make your life all the easier by telling you about a few foundation mistakes that you might be making and how you can correct those mistakes.

Not prepping your skin

Directly applying foundation application  to your dry dull skin without doing any exfoliation and moisture? Well, then your foundation is bound to look crusty. Always make sure that you are exfoliating your skin twice a week to remove that dead skin cells layer off your face and to keep your skin looking fresh and plumped.

Apply moisturizer on your face every time you wash it to keep your skin soft and smooth and so that your foundation can glide and spread on your skin more easily.

Not using a primer

As much as we neglect this product, the more important it is. Primer helps to minimize the appearance of any enlarged pores and bumps on your skin to make the surface of your skin more even.

Moreover, it helps the oil production on your skin and the oils your foundation makes me releasing to keep your face looking less shiny for a loner, furthermore, primer helps your foundation sticks to your face meaning that it increases the wear time of your foundation.

Using too much foundation

Always remember there’s only as much as a foundation can do. Do not use your foundation as a concealer and try to build on a hundred layers. If you’re looking for fuller coverage and smooth finish then do not go above 3 layers of the foundation because anything more than that is going to make your face look like a birthday cake and nobody likes that truly.

Using the wrong shade

Always know your undertone. Being south Asians, most of us have a yellow undertone so if we use anything with a pink undertone then we will not quite give us the results we’re expecting. It will enhance any pigmentation on your face and give an overall grey tint to your face.

Always use the foundation that is exact your shade, not too dark, not too light. You can get your perfect match by swatching any foundation shade on your neck area. If you want to further highlight or contour any area on your face then concealers and contour pallets are the choices for it but if you chose the wrong shade of foundation then that can make your whole look suffer.
